Animal Care Tiree is a community-owned, not-for-profit veterinary practice providing veterinary services to the islands of Tiree and Coll.
Established to safeguard local veterinary services, we are building a sustainable model of care that supports livestock, horses and companion animals while strengthening our island communities.

About the Role
We’re not just looking for someone to manage a veterinary practice – we’re looking for someone who wants to help shape the future of a unique, community-owned service that makes a real difference to island life.
Working closely with the Senior Veterinary Surgeon and Board of Directors, you’ll play a central role in ensuring the practice runs smoothly while continually improving the service we provide to our clients.
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
- Highly organised and enjoys making systems work well.
- Calm under pressure and confident making decisions.
- Friendly, approachable and an excellent communicator.
- Comfortable working independently while being part of a close-knit team.
- Comfortable using IT systems and willing to learn new skills.
- Adaptable, practical and willing to turn their hand to whatever is needed.
- Passionate about providing excellent service to our island communities.
Veterinary experience is welcome but is not essential.
We would be equally interested in applicants with experience in healthcare, agriculture, professional services, tourism, charity management, office management or other operational management roles.

The Role Includes
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the practice.
- Coordinating appointments and client communications.
- Supporting the delivery of telemedicine services.
- Financial administration and reporting (depending on experience).
- Medicines and stock administration.
- Supporting the implementation of practice systems and operational processes.
- Working closely with the Senior Veterinary Surgeon and Board to continually improve the practice.
Salary
Competitive, dependent on experience.
